The University of Potsdam has five colleges:
School of Law
The courses of the School of Law include all the basic and compulsory subjects required to become a full judge (German: Volljurist), as well as civil law, criminal law and public law.
The teaching and research focus of the School of Law is on legal foundations, civil judicial system, economic law, international law, public administration, as well as economic, tax and environmental criminal law. The Faculty of Philosophy consists of theology, Jewish studies, philosophy, history, classical linguistics, Germanic languages and literature, English studies, American studies, Romance studies, Slavic studies, and art and media. The main research topics of these majors cover cultural changes, lifestyles, philosophy of life, and regionality and identity in Europe.
